New Central School ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the New Central School parent app and how we use it.

Information We Collect

• Account details — parent name, phone number, email, and address — provided during registration.
• Student information — name, class/section, date of birth, photograph — added by parents or by school staff.
• Device identifiers — Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token for push notifications.
• Approximate or precise location — only when you tap "Pick Location" during registration. Not collected in the background.
• App usage and crash reports — anonymised and used only to improve stability.

How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you and link you to your child's school record.
• To deliver school announcements, homework, events, fees, and gallery content.
• To send push notifications about your account approval, homework, and announcements.
• To display your address for fee receipts and school communication.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect contacts, SMS, call logs, microphone audio, or browser history.
• We do not track your location in the background.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third-party advertisers.

Sharing and Disclosure

Your information is shared only with: (a) the school administration so they can manage your child's record, and (b) infrastructure providers (Google Firebase for push notifications, Google Maps for location). It is never shared for advertising.

Data Retention

Account and student data are retained for as long as the child is enrolled at the school plus seven (7) years for academic record requirements, after which the data is anonymised or deleted.

Your Rights

• Request a copy of your data.
• Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data, subject to applicable legal retention periods.

Security

All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Account passwords are hashed with bcrypt before storage. Access tokens are stored on-device using the platform secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore).

Children's Privacy

Student records are added and managed by parents or school staff. Children do not directly use this app.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the latest version.
